Unreliable popups?
« on: February 21, 2018, 08:40:54 AM »
Hi
I am running Avast Free Antivirus on a windows 8.1 computer.
I have noticed the random popups (that appear in the bottom right of the screen) appear to be unreliable.
Here are two examples from the last two days; yesterday I logged into Gmail and was immediately shown popup telling me that the Gmail page contained ransom-ware, then today I see a popup telling me some software needs updating, I clicked the Details button and found I that according to Avast I need to update two programmes and it also wanted to install Google chrome.  I manually checked the two programs and found they were In Fact the current version.

What’s going on here?  The unreliability of these popups is of some concern.

P.s. have a look at the attachment of the Verification code that is required for posting this comment, it is almost completely illegable.
