I posted about this on this forum and on the WoW tech support forum, with no resolution. It is 100% an Avast issue. I have added Exclusions under every area, disabled the shields, etc., but nothing worked. I finally caved and called Avast's support team and they had me uninstall Avast. Sure as heck, WoW worked just fine with no Avast. I could open and close it like normal. Upon installing Avast again it started having the issue.
The support you called is third party support.
I've already reported this to Avast again. That's all I can do from my end.

Yes. I am running 18.2.2328 (build 18.2.3827.0) and I am still having the issue.

This quoting feature is terrible...

Is it really third party support? I called the number that was in the Avast software, which stated if I need tech support call XXXXXXXXX. That is really a bummer if that's the case. I'm strongly considering other software, despite having been an Avast customer for about 10 years.

I have noticed that Avast is also blocking my Discord... It reconnects, then connects, then reconnects. I turn off the shields, and it works fine.

Just to add my two cents to this issue. I just finished doing a clean install of the most recent version of the free version of Avast. Having the same issue mentioned above. Attempted to add WoW as an exclusion which made no difference. Even disabling Avast won't let the game launch. Only way I've been able to get the game to launch properly is to completely uninstall Avast. This is extremely disappointing as I've used Avast for years without issue.

Hello can you capture procmon log and provide it to analysis ?

1) Download procmon from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
2) Extract and run procmon (it will capture wow-64.exe process execution)
3) run wow-64.exe
4) Save procmon log and upload it to avast ftp site - (prefered  log name to easy lookup: avast_wow_64_exe_procmon.pml)

I would be great to get procmon log from at least 2 affected people.
Thank you !

The lack of action from Avast in sorting their problem out probably stems from not enough people having the reported issue.   When a few hundred are suffering then they may start to take it seriously.  They can afford financially to ignore a few people but not many.  We'll have to wait until many more people are suffering I think before anything is done.

I also noticed that since the Feb 18 update my 'Discord' stopped and also 'Twitch', refusing to open the program up on 1st attempt but then allowing on a 2nd attempt.

I still have Avast uninstalled btw!

What people have decided to do is just uninstall Avast and request a refund. I have called into their tech support, they had me uninstall Avast to see if that helped (and it did!), then we reinstalled and it broke multiple software again. I'm done dealing with this.

Side note: It can't get fixed if nobody is willing to help...
