I have had to down load avast home 4.0 two times know and both times it has disappeared after registering download , icons gone everything except desktop that just blinks when accessed same with startup whats goin on???????

Where did you download from?  The avast! web site or somewhere else?

Are you sure you downloaded to your desktop?
