Does AVAST conflict with my Windows 7 Monthly Rollup download?

I can't download Windows Monthly Rollup on my computer running windows 7. It has failed since last November. Is it possible that AVAST basic version software is not compatible?

Windows help says to ask if Avast has set the following REGKEY :

Key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat"
