Avast Real Site causes a dns leak.....
« on: February 12, 2018, 01:22:43 AM »
So was testing for dns leaks and in addition to my VPN server (private internet access), there was also an avast server that kept being found. I found out that the 'Real Site' feature of Avast was the culprit. Is there a way to use the Real Site and not have any DNS leaks. Also, what does Avast do with data it collects? Thank you.

Hi, Real Site is a secure (encrypted) DNS service. It can not work if you wouldn't send your DNS to it - similarly to a VPN that would have hard times helping you offline. However, since the traffic between your PC and Avast's backend for Real Site is encrypted, you don't need to worry about anyone spying on you on the way.
