Avast Internet Security Activation
« on: January 08, 2018, 05:46:12 AM »
Hey guys, I downloaded My Avast Incentives and thought I Activated my license with the free three year upgrade, but when I looked it said that support was ending on 1/26/2018.  So I did it again with the file I had saved, it said it activated but the date has not changed.  I suppose I should reboot, but had not yet because I thought I did this earlier.  I will reboot now.

Just rebooted and no difference.  I see the Green Button on the Left saying to "Renew Now".  Any ideas?

I did the Uninstall in Safe Mode but there is no difference.  I think I'll give it some time and see if it shows activated later.

I'm supposed to be using the "License File" with the Incentives Program right?  It don't look to be an Activation Code, looks like a License File to me.

When I Activate, it shows that it was Activated with a Green Check Mark, but then when I go back and look under Settings>Subscription, it still says 1/26/2018?  Weird?

Thanks Asyn, but that link wasn't much help.  I sent a Resent Activation, but it was not attached to my emial account as a normal account, this was the incentives account.  There is nowhere to actually email them from that link, so I will need to look for an email address.

I feel lied to and tricked into Installing Avast on about Fifty computers, and went through a lot of work to get my Incentives, and now am not being compensated, with a simple Activation of Avast Internet Security!  I've wasted lot's of time now, and could easily remove and not install Avast on my Customers computers anymore.  Pretty simple to Remote in and put them on something else.  Norton is free from Comcast and most have Comcast.  I could install a product that will Honor their Product Incentives.  There are many other things that could be done here.

It's Okay to discontinue the program, but you need to honor the people that have already developed credit!!!

Avast, you are liars.  I've posted about this in more than one Thread, and still no acknowledgement that you have tricked me into installing your product on a large amount of computers for free.  Their are products out there that don't nag all the time either.  Maybe your whole Incentives should have been based on the Sales of Avast Products, but this is not my fault, nor was it my decision to do this, it was you, your employees.

Now I've wasted another 30min trying to activate again and post this!

I use another company in the future because you do not stand by your word!!!

Here is what I see in my account.

RECOMMEND AVAST AND GET INTERNET SECURITY FOR FREE
We’ve just launched our new recommendation program. You can access it through your Avast desktop app by clicking the star icon on your main dashboard.

Please be aware that our previous program has been discontinued and your old recommendations cannot be transferred.

Also, the link generated in this section of your Avast Account can no longer be used to collect credit.

However, if you were eligible for a free license based on the credit you collected, you can still download it until April 30, 2018.

YOU DON'T STAND BY YOUR WORD, OR YOUR PRODUCT!

It also says this in my account

License valid until: 1/26/2020

Also, let me point out this as I did above:

Maybe I'm an exception. I've always recommended Avast because I believe it's an excellent product.
I've literally amassed hundreds of licenses that I've never used. I'm quite happy with the Free version of Avast.
I'm still happy to continue to promote and recommend Avast. I'll stop when Avast stops the protection.
After all, it was and still is, Avast's ability to keep my and my "friends" systems safe that attracted me in the first place.

Bob, I'm not looking for opinions, I'm looking for resolution?  The fact is they are not standing by their program, and therefore lied to me about the Terms, though I'm sure they reserve the right to screw anyone at any time they please.  I already stated this above...

It's called reading the fine print. The offer always had the option to be discontinued at any time without recourse.
