Update installed smoothly via internal updater on all three win 10 machines here, though I notice scans are still only showing "a few seconds" under time taken in the scan history.

Have also noticed Chrome crashing randomly on two machines since the update (third hasn't really been used), but I'm not sure if  that is related at all to avast or is down to some other cause (I can't think what though).

Is there any progress on getting the Outlook 2016 add-on to work with Avast again?

Tks
Should be fixed, try a clean reinstall.

I'd like to report that the version causes BSOD in fltmgr.sys on Windows XP Pro x64(I keep a retro rig to run games like SimCity Societies and The Movies). The previous version did not do this.

HI,

I have JUST noticed that after Avast upgraded, and then when I proceeded to reboot the sistem, the system loads but whenever it should be loading the homescreen the pc shuts down. I've tried twice (second time it displayed the "initiate as safe mode" screen but didn't used it), it does the same, Windows 7 loads but then shuts down. What can I do? I would be able to delete the latest upgrade or should I try to load the latest system restore??

This and the last version also break the new Google Chat application. In particular, I cannot enable video chat when the behavior shield is running. Disabling the behavior shield during the duration of the chat allows video to be operational.

Since Google chat is being looked at as a skype replacement for work, it's important to me that this issue is resolved.

I've also had Windows Explorer crash on me twice since this update was installed.
Which Google app you mean please?

The hangouts chat application 18.2.252 recently released by Google for Windows. On a video conference call it attempts to bring up Google Meeting in the default browser window (for me, that's Chrome). This will break with an unspecified error unless the behavior shield is turned off.

Problem was with IE 64bit on Win7 64 bit, and it was fixed by VPS. So please update your virus definitions, if not updated yet automatically and problem should be gone

I just tried launching both 64 and 32 bit IE from within Bluefish (an HTML/CSS/Javascript/PHP editor) and after a long pause both worked.

The second time that the programs were launched, the response was much faster. I won't be able to check Hangouts Chat for Windows until sometime Friday.

i have the same problem as Chong6: i updated avast and it caused my computer to BSOD (FITMGR.SYS 0x0000007E) on startup, so i had to restart in safe mode to uninstall it, therefor my computer is now without a antivirus and had to be disconnected from the net for safety reasons.

I have the last version of avast free. I´ve noticed that in at least three times behavior shield turns off by itself. Luckily the avast tray icon informs of this and I turn it on. Is someone experiencing the same thing?.
Thanks.

it's been running on my XPx64 computer for the past 11 years, you can't just end support like that without a f###ing warning, laziness is not a virtue so get off your asses and fix it BECAUSE YOUR DAMAGING PEOPLES COMPUTERS!!!

it should have at least been made so that the update won't install on WinXPx64 computers,  because this is grossly negligent and harmful as is.

So after the last update i cant launch World of Warcraft at all. I tried adding it to exclusions list and disabling gaming mode(suggested by BlizzardCS) and even completely disabling all behaviour shields but nothing. The only thing that worked was completely uninistalling avast which obviously fixed the problem. So is there anything i can do to fix or should i just uninstall avast after all those years of using it ?

Edit: After a while avast asked for a restart which I did. Then after rebooting I saw 2 new feautres added called Anti Track Premium and Drivers Updater. I dont know if there was a new version but after that i tried to launch WoW and it launched smoothly with no problems.

Edit2: I closed the game and then tried to reopen it and now it wont open again...

I am sorry that I didnt find that particular forum. It seems like I am not the only one having the same problem. I ve already tried what's being mentionted on that forum including repairing, clean installing avast, disabling all behiavour shields, adding wow64.exe and 32 bit exe to exclusions as well as adding the whole wow file to file exclusions and in general exclusions. The only thing that worked so far is completely uninstalling avast and indeed as being told by you and other users wow only launches once after i reboot my computer if i have avast installed. Any other attempts of launching without rebooting first have failed. Thank you for your time. I guess i ll just have to uninstall Avast for now.

Sorry we could not resolve your issue for now.  This is a known bug and avast devs are working on it.  Check back frequently for updates and/or subscribe to the topic I linked you to.

If you've uninstalled avast and installed a new a/v be sure to use these uninstallers for a clean uninstall/install:  https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/11/#artTitle
