On Access Scanner
« on: June 14, 2006, 09:00:27 PM »
This is a repost of a problem I had and I'm still having the same problem. I had to reinstall Avast home edition after I had to format my hardrive. I reinstalled windows 98 second edition. And ever since I did this and reinstalled avast home edition. Its not providing the On access scanner. It shows a little red icon in the lower left of the Avast icon. And it shows 0 providers and 0 running. I have repeatedly uninstalled Avast home edition and reinstalled it. I even used the avast complete unistall utility and reinstalled Avast afterwards. And I'm still getting the little red icon showing that I don't have any on access protection. Anyone know what I should try next?

Have you reinstalled any other security software prior to installing avast, e.g. Spybot S&D (TeaTimer), AdAware (AdWatch), PrevX, WinPatrol, ProcessGuard, etc. ?

Are you getting any other errors displayed during boot ?

Check out these links and see if they give any more information or help.
