Version 18.2.2328 having Behavior Shield issue
« on: March 03, 2018, 09:10:11 PM »
Hello Avastians,

I read everywhere in the forum that the Behavior Shield issue has been taken care of and I started seeing this issue for the first time on my machine (Windows 10) since last night when I updated my Avast to Version 18.2.2328 (build 17.5.3559.0).

Could someone please confirm if this known issue has been really fixed by Avast? I did a repair of Avast as well as mentioned in some of the posts in the forum and it didn't help either.

Thanks!

Has Windows 10 been restarted since Avast update.  It should be Version 18.2.2328 (build 18.2.3827.0).

Edited build number to correct it.

Has Windows 10 been restarted since Avast update.  It should be Version 18.2.2328 (build 18.0.3827.0).

Yes, it's been restarted multiple times after the Avast update. But the issue still persists. I am still seeing Version 18.2.2328 (build 17.5.3559.0) on my Avast.

Below is copied from an Asyn post.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

You had to be using an older version. The SafeZone Browser hasn't been available for quite while.
A replacement is in the works.

Holy smokes! How did that happen? My Avast has been updated regularly since the last 1-2 years. When is the replacement supposed to be coming? I'll not be able to do any transactions until then.  :(

Please, I have installed version 12.8.2328(build 17.5.3559.0) Avast Internet Security. All's well except Behavior shield ("cannot install").
"Essential Shields cannot be installed" AND after some time "Cannot install Behavior Shield".
  • I have executed two restarts.
  • I have tried Avast Repair - same problem.
After ten minutes all essential shields(4) seems to be not installed (a kind of message on avast screen: "shields.undefined" and "shields.undefined.desc")
What is that? For the moment I'm afraid to use my computers.

I mention that I have two licenses for two computers.

Windows 7 x64 HP Probook.

Thanks!

PS. Please excuse me! I have three posts with the same message. My age is 68. I am not comfortable with this kind of forum.

If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:

Thank you very much!
It worked. Very accurate. I wish you all the best!

Maybe was the possibility to clear some files only in safe mode.

I have a question: Why did not automatically install avast the last build version?
I am a curious man. Please, don't judge me!

Check your settings:

Even if set to automatic, the updates are spread over time to prevent server overload.
