Pop ups
« on: March 11, 2018, 01:20:12 AM »
I am getting really annoyed with Avast and it's constant pop ups. I would rather deal with a lesser antivirus than be spammed by these. If there is a way to reduce them then tell me but I am not going to get bullied into spending more money. I have had at least 13 pop ups all the same thing at once before and it is simply unacceptable. Normally I would suggest avast and even spring for service but I can't promote any program that seeks to spam pop ups like a small child trying to get their way.

An occasional pop up is normal in the free version.
I don't know what you're describing ???

What do you mean by 'I am not going to get bullied into spending more money.'  ?

If you have a paid version of avast, AIS, Premier, Ultimate, then you can switch them off.
AvastUI > Settings > General > Popups - uncheck the 'Show popup offers for other Avast Products.'
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

My issue is that I shouldn't be dragged out of what I am doing for antivirus, I am aware pop ups will happen to try to promote their software but 13 at one time is unacceptable. My issue is that I am well aware the status of my antivirus and I don't need to be reminded every few hours of it because all it will do is push me away from the company.

Haven't a clued what you're describing. I've used the free product since 2003 and have never
experience what you're describing. I've also never heard of anything like that from any one else.
