Avast Free version 18.2.2328 Web Shield
« on: March 13, 2018, 02:57:01 PM »
Hi I am having an issue with the Web Shield for Avast. I am setting up Readyshare on my Netgear router and having connection issues. Tracked it down to the Web Shield causing the issue (by disabling one shield checking if I can connect, reenabling, and continuing down the line). However at this point I am not sure what to do to allow the Readyshare to work properly and still have Web Shield enabled. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Hi zackrenner,

thank you for reporting this. Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce the issue. For further investigation we need more information. Could you please describe connection issues? What method do you use to connect to the share? What is the version number of avast, OS, Netgear model?

Thanks in advance,
HK

Thank you for replying, The connection issue is I can see my Readyshare on my network, but am unable to connect to it until I disable my Webshield. Basically it tries to access the folder but will eventually time out saying that it cannot access this drive, that it is not accessible. I am accessing my share by wired connection to a switch, which then runs to my router where the drive is connected. I have tried accessing by ethernet with another computer and it has no issues. My version of Avast is 18.2.2328, Os is Windows 10 Home (build 15063.909), and Netgear model is C3700-100NAS N600.

How do you access the share? Is it via Windows explorer (Network Connection) or via internet browser (HTTP)? Also do you use any 3rd party firewall or windows firewall?
