I'm sure it is embarassing
« on: March 15, 2018, 12:22:50 AM »
Ever since I installed Avast for the first time, I have been impressed.
HOWEVER
Recently, avast has implemented a new feature in which whenever their service stops, the UI refuses to load, and gives you a prompt telling you that they're super embarrassed and to restart the service, or close the UI.
Choosing to restart the service will result in giving you a minuscule glimpse of the control center, then reverting right back to the dreaded service failure screen.

This issue has been going on for months, if not over a year for me.  I have tried going into services and manually restarting/starting the service, and it either tells me that starting it has failed, or it completely ignores me, and does nothing to resolve the issue.  I have tried reinstalling the program about three times now, which fixes the problem temporarily, for about a week or so, until it pops right back up to tease me over and over again.

If anyone from IT, or Troubleshooting can see this, fixing the problem will give me hope that this was the right antivirus software to choose.  Otherwise I'll have to just revert back to Windows Defender as AVG is just one giant advert that prompts you to purchase their upgrades without giving you the option to turn the prompts off, and every other antivirus program is just a big scam.

Thanks for listening to my troubles, and I hope to hear from you soon.

-Josh
