I did all that before & it did not help.
I had to wait a couple days to calm down so I could post a civil response.
What I have decided to do is keep the virus definitions & program updated manually.
I can update the program updated manually without uninstalling it.
I can keep the virus definitions updated manually too.

We, the customers, should not have to jump through hoops trying bogus methods of fixing Avast.
It should be up to Avast to fix their faulty product which we pay good money for.
ALL my other programs connect to the internet & update nicely.
Macrium Reflect 7.1, CCleaner Pro,Java, Flash, DriverMax,WinPatrol,Defraggler,Youtube Downloader HD,Malwarebytes, etc. .
The ONLY ONE that won't is Avast Premier.
Avast should research the problem & provide a download of the fix if it can find one.
Personal emails with a link to the fix should be sent to all users of Avast.
I'll wait until my subscription to Avast expires.
If Avast doesn't fix their faulty program by then I will clean install Windows 10 Pro from an iso file.
I installed it for free & have a digital license for it on my Microsoft Account so I can re-install it for free anytime I want.
Without Avast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
