Here I am again.
Avast just disgusts me now.
It used to be a good program.
Now it is not.
I've tried online & offline reinstalls.
Once I uninstall it I lose my internet ethernet connection.
I do not use wifi.
I have several programs that automatically update & do so just fine.
They have NO problem connecting to the internet to update themselves.
Avast is the only program that fails to update like it should.
That is why I want to uninstall it.
Plus the fact it kills my internet connection if I uninstall it.
What the hell is going on with Avast ?
How can I either get it to update or uninstall it without losing my internet connection ?
I paid good money for Avast Premier.
I can predict that when my subscription to it expires IT WILL connect to the internet & stop working.
This is bull crap.
I may get upset enough to talk to a lawyer & see if I can sue Avast over this issue.
I'm asking Avast for help before I take them to court.
I'm serious.

1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

I did all that before & it did not help. :(

I had to wait a couple days to calm down so I could post a civil response. :)

What I have decided to do is keep the virus definitions & program updated manually.
I can update the program updated manually without uninstalling it.
I can keep the virus definitions updated manually too.
See added screenshot.

We, the customers, should not have to jump through hoops trying bogus methods of fixing Avast.
It should be up to Avast to fix their faulty product which we pay good money for.
ALL my other programs connect to the internet & update nicely.
Macrium Reflect 7.1, CCleaner Pro,Java, Flash, DriverMax,WinPatrol,Defraggler,Youtube Downloader HD,Malwarebytes, etc. .
The ONLY ONE that won't is Avast Premier. :(

Avast should research the problem & provide a download of the fix if it can find one.
Personal emails with a link to the fix should be sent to all users of Avast.

I'll wait until my subscription to Avast expires.
If Avast doesn't fix their faulty program by then I will clean install Windows 10 Pro from an iso file.
I installed it for free & have a digital license for it on my Microsoft Account so I can  re-install it for free anytime I want. :)
Without Avast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To help isolate the problem, have you tried disabling the Avast firewall ???
Once disable, the Windows firewall will be active so you're still protected.
See if that  makes any difference.

I'm ahead of you on that.
See picture---

I disabled the Avast Firewall before & activated the Windows Firewall.
Still lost internet after uninstalling Avast.

I think it has something to do with Avast setting up a Proxy server.
I'm no programmer so I am only speculating.
I ran internet diagnostics after uninstalling Avast & it pointed to problems with a Proxy server.
I followed instructions on correcting Proxy servers errors a lot.
No dice.
I'm now using the Windows Firewall.
Avast Firewall is not even installed.
Will await the Avast fix.
I hope they get off their asses & fix it soon.

Have you contacted support ???

Since I only use the free version of Avast, I have no way of testing your problem.

I won't be doing much with the sorry attitude AVAST has either.
I'm a victim.
Not a corporate criminal like Avast.

Actually, you're a customer with a problem.
Avast happens to be a legitimate Co. Even if you're upset.
