C:\Windows\System\32\msdt.exe

Same here Laurie.  Clean up said I had a lot of issues and it could make my run time faster if they fixed it.  SO I ticked all issues and now it has put everything to sleep so my laptop will not shut down or boot up.  I left it to boot up for 1 1/ hrs this morning and still didn't work.  I have requested a full refund as I expect I will need the money in order to pay an IT expert to fix my laptop assuming this is possible.  I am extremely angry at the time I have wasted already and I haven't yet taken my laptop to the shop.  Still waiting for refund.

I guess this is where I should have posted.  I installed and ran the free trial of the Cleanup on Sunday night and now the laptop will not boot.  No, I do not have an official backup.  IT seems that when I let it do the things it suggested and put things in the background it is preventing Win10 from completly booting.  I have no idea what to do.  When I hit escape on bootup, I could do a restore but it would uninstall all apps and I fear that would remove at least some of my files because I had to download a free Word type program.  Not sure what else I added that would be removed.

Suggestions please!
Thanks!

Hello,

We are sorry for your troubles however currently from the product point of view we are not aware of such interactions between Cleanup and Windows which might cause such issues.

In order to be able to help you we would need to know more information about what exactly you did before the problem occurred.
I mean which Cleanup features and how exactly you used them before you were not able to boot up your computer?

Also I was wondering whether you installed some other software or e.g. Windows Updates right before you experienced the issues?

Thank you.

On another thread on this board someone helped me get a link to put WIN10 on a flash drive and from there I was able to boot into safe mode and then remove the Avast Cleanup.  So far I have not detected any problems with any programs.  I could not tell you if there had been updates recently they are on automatic.  The system was running slow and nothing showed up on virus or malware scans so I thought Cleanup would help.

I will add that I did let Cleanup automatically turn off background programs or what ever it was called to help speed things up and I honestly feel that somehow they were not coming on when needed.

Hello

Same thing happened to me since I ran Avast Cleanup on Sunday. Now my laptop cannot load and there's no restore point or rolling back to the previous version (As Avast recommended to delete those files to free up space during the cleanup).

Anyone has the link to load the window 10 to a flash drive and boot the computer it from there? Or are there any other ways? Please help.

Thank you
