Avast CheckSUR Errors Unable To Correct
« on: March 15, 2018, 09:14:59 PM »
I'm using Avast Free.  Recently I've been experiencing CheckSUR errors regarding Avast.  I've tried Avast Repair, uninstalling avast with avast clear and reinstalling, sfcfix with script file, nothing works to clear the errors. Your verification images are unreadable and your listen to letters doesn't work

From Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Avast, Repair only produces more errors!

Using the Add/Remove program option is not a clean install. Please follow the instructions I provided.

Add/Remove Program Option is not a clean install?  Have no clue what you mean. Add/Remove program was a Vista feature I believe, not Win7

https://gizmodo.com/5138189/win-7-tip-where-the-hell-is-addremove-programs

Irregardless, this is what I followed:

Disconnect from the internet (done)
Uninstall Avast via control panel and follow the directions. Start ORB>Control Panel>uninstall a program>click Avast>click uninstall>avast popup UNINSTALL (done)
Run the Uninstall Utility and accept the reboot to safe mode (done)
Once complete reboot your system (done)
Go back online (done)
Reinstall Avast (done)

Upon completion, please reboot your system to make sure all changes have been completed.
