winpatrol
« on: June 19, 2006, 10:59:23 AM »
thinking about re-installing winpatrol(used long time ago)

it it considered real-time protection and if so,will it conflict with my spy sweeper and ewido which are real time?
and also with my in/out firewall?
is it really necessary to have with all the security i have now?there is such a thing as over-kill?

any help or advise would be appreciated ::) 8) ;D :D

I think they won't conflict. At least, not with ewido. WinPatrol is a monitor program, not a low level antispyware/antitrojan/antivirus.
With the firewall, for sure, no conflict.

I have avast + Kerio firewall + WinPatrol. Ewido just for on-demmand scanning.
WinPatrol is very very light on resources consumption  8)

 :)  Hi Doc :

About a yr ago I asked "BillP" on the WinPatrol forum on
castlecops about how much protection it would give & I
listed my security programs; his reply was probably very
little based on what I already had on my computer .
Perhaps you should visit their forums if you have not
     already done so !?

I have Winpatrol 9.8.1.0:9.8.1.0. It works fine with Ewido that I have, plus I have Spysweeper 4.5.9. build 709. They all work fine with no conflicts on my machine.  :) Whether you add it to what you have already is just personal choice or preference.
