Hi there,

Are you aware of any (which) WOT alternative(s)?
WOT cannot be trusted?
Do you recommend a WOT alike?

I shall be looking forward to hearing from you, thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Bumping this old topic, because I just found a more trustworthy way of qualifying domain tagging here:
example: https://community.opendns.com/user/687476 *

I use it, * , checking up on DNS requests inside DNSQuerySniffer,
another fine security-check-tool developed by Israeli developer-g33k, Nir Sofer.

You sure would like all of his nifty Windows tools, as he has a long relationship with Microsoft.

Enjoy, my good friends, enjoy,

WOT used to be awesome, until they screwed up the TRUST part. Now I can't force myself using it again knowing what they did.

Back then, I used it to know if shops I never used were verified, warned users about bad shops and flagged trusted company sites as official ones to let users know they are on the right site for sure. It was by far the best tool in existence. Not even avast!'s one comes anywhere close because ratings with avast! are pretty much useless because they have no context like WOT had since you could left a written message about it. And WOT actually stored your ratings under account. With avast!, if I reinstall my system or browser, everything is just gone and I have no clue which site I've already rated and which I haven't. And I have no intention to waste my time rating pages I've rated them already, I just can't remember if I have done so already.

It's really a shame, because WOT was great. And they screwed it up big time.

Only good alternative i could find is:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/trustpilot/meagmjlgkihmljnchdjagbcgfclobkho

TrustPilot is great page to check what stores to trust. Unfortunately they only have extension for Chrome for some stupid reason. There is none even for Firefox which is just straight up weird. But there it is if you're using Chromium based browser...

There is also this site to check on alleged scams - Scamvoid:

https://www.scamvoid.com/check/roi777.com/

The scam site tested there is one that is often used in traffic distribution scams:
And it can be seen confirmed in this read-up on it: https://malware.dontneedcoffee.com/hosted/anonymous/kotd.html
