Avast freezes when trying to get a new license

When I select the free license the popup freezes for about 60 seconds. After that I get the other 2 popups but I have no licencse. Also I'm unable to log into my avast account in the program. Re-installation or deactivting self-protection didn't help.

Avast used to run just fine for several years so some recent changes must have caused the problem.

I'm using Windows 10 64bit

Which version of Avast are you using?

Programs and features, Avast > change. Click on Activate, now you have to do it from here because they removed this from options. Then restart computer and you're activated for one year again.

Wow, that actually worked! Thanks alot.

I've wouldn't come up with that in a 100 years though... not very intuitive.  ::)
