Avast stills sees bitdefender file somewhere
« on: April 03, 2018, 05:28:17 PM »
I searched for similar issue but could not find this exact problem so here goes:

We run an XP machine (sp3) and before anyone jumps on the bandwagon of "why are you running XP still" - it rarely goes online but it still needs the internet for a few things we do in our business.
So that said we have used Avast Free ver. for a long time however at one point Bitdefender was installed on this PC. Then we went back to Avast but since then every time the PC boots up Avast loads runs for a minute then disables itself saying " You're in Danger, the subscription is expired blah blah blah"

Uninstall-Reinstall - solves issue temporarily for maybe an hour or less then disables once again
After trying the Repair option -does not solve issue Says:
"Bitdefender is still on PC please remove"

We have used CCleaner, Malewarebytes, Bitdefender's own uninstall tool, even visually looked for any BD files everywhere looks clean

Its very annoying and at this point AVAST is the only AV that still works on XP

Any ideas ?
