Avast Pro - Unable to run Update on XP
« on: April 07, 2018, 04:44:43 PM »
My Avast pro will not update. I have tried several times and it sits there, for several hours if allowed. I have an old operating system, XP.

It shows File downloaded: prod-pgm.vpx and that's where if freezes up.

Any idea what would be keeping this from updating?

Version 180202-4

I really am not sure about the OS question. It's Windows XP, 2002 version (yes, I know very outdated and old).
I had ransomware on this computer and the person who fixed it I believe put a 14 day trial of Malware Pro on which expires tomorrow.
I've only used Avast, first the free then last year updated to Pro. Never had an issue till now.
