Hi David, still shows a few days later Updates are available. We'll download them when you are not using a metered connection, or you can download 1.76 GB-1.76 GB using your current data connection (charges might apply).

Been in touch with Fujitsu who said my product is not supported after windows 10-1511 and can not help.

just hope I still get the critical updates and future updates of 1803 are bug free.

I hadn't been notified or it auto download, my win10 system has just been manually (check for) updates.  On checking for updates the Update screen said it was up to date, but a manual check notified of the Win10 version 1803.

So it has been downloading for some time (I took a break) and it hadn't moved much at all I think it stopped shortly after I took the break.  Woke it up and it finished relatively quickly.

It took its time installing and I have booted and it is running through the validation/working on updates 'This will take a while' still on 84%, now complete no apparent issues 8)

Recently I have had some serious issues with my internet connection having to tether my laptop to my phone for a connection, so no way I would do this until I had my connection issues resolved (which it is now).

If you're upgrading more than one System, create the Installation Media.
I elected to create installation media that contained both the 32 and 64 bit OS.
You'll need an 8 gig USB drive to do this.
I've used that media on 4 different systems. 3 64 bit and 1 3 bit. Worked like a charm.
The only thing it needed internet access for are for any updates that have been released
which I elected to download.

When is it worth waiting for a new version of Avast, which will work on the spring update of Windows?

I have just updated win10 to version 1803 with avast 18.3.2333 installed without problem.

I didn't disable or uninstall avast prior to updating windows 10 as some have suggested.

My Avast also worked on a new update, but after a day of work the next time the system was launched, a crash occurred and a bug occurred. All the following reinstallations did not help, Avast can not start its service. (Avast Premier)

Mine installed fine, then after rebooting about 2 days later (I leave my laptop in sleep) avast went down and bsod constantly.

with windows saying 5 drivers were causing problems...

restored to a week earlier with a system image and sweet as a nut again.

thought I would update this thread.

Got the AvastUI problem after 1803 update.  Just uninstalled for now, no BSOD issues or anything but the Avast and Windows Defender services are fighting, clearly.

Once Avast updates to fix this bug I'll reinstall.  Looks like MS updated a lot of things in the 1803 update with security and that's probably getting in the way of how Avast functions.  It's definitely a repeatable and immediate issue however.

If fast boot is enabled, a shut down is almost like putting the system to sleep. I've had 2 occasions that after shutting the system off, the Avast services did not start
once I started the system the next day. Trying to start the services manually, never worked.
A RESTART of the system worked without any problems and Avast worked with out problems once I did a RESTART.
(A Restart, bypasses the Fast Boot function and actually does a real shutdown and restart.)

In general, the same thing, it works before the first reboot, and then the eternal Avast UI Fails, we are waiting for the corrected version for the spring update of Windows ...

Follow the directions. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=218193.msg1460062#msg1460062
If that doesn't fix it, do a repair of Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

I am "boss" of two gadget. First is mine, with a 64 bit Windows 10 Home Professional on it. The second is belongs to my sister with a 32 bit Windows 10 Home Professional running on it. Two days ago I updated my laptop and has no problem with Avast so long. But I updated today my sister's PC too, and the Avast UI problem has appeared almost at once. I have reinstalled the Avast but it did not help. I have had to uninstall the Avast and replace with another antivirus software.
I hope so this issue will be just short-time problem because I need the Avast Free Antivirus and its services.

P.S.: This morning, 5th of May, the other Avast died too on the 64 bit machine.  :-\ So there is no longer any mistery, the Windows 10 1803 is an Avast killer. Shame on it!
