Hi to all,

As every body, I have also the same problem: running win 10 v1803, error 1067 when I try to start, manually,  the AV windows service. It's that several call Avast UI fails...

The Avast firewall service is running well without any problem. The real question is: are e protected when we surf on Internet?

Now is the Avast dev  team is aware of the problem I ask why this avast engine release has been deployed.... The last one was running well inside win 10-1803.

Wait and see but how long for?

Francis

Hi to all,

Solution provided by support (in Portuguese), seems to be working so far:

1. Press Win and R and type services.msc, click OK
2. Under Services (Local) find Remote Desktop Services
3. Right click on that and select Properties
4. Under General TAB go to Startup Type and select Automatic
5. Apply and OK reboot the machine

Hope that helps. So far so good on my side, let's keep fingers crossed.

It seems that this soluce runs well.

Some specialized web site explain that some windows services are not usefull inside a local computer desktop. And it may happen that some windows services are to be switched in a manual mode or worst in a disable mode.

After have a look on the Windows services of my computer, I've seen that the remote desktop service was disabled. A quick modification of this state to automatic was the graal of the perfect running of AV Avast after the reboot of the system.

So now this issue sis solved for me.

My wait is over,

Francis

to have the remote desktop service permanently activated is not a soulotion but rather a workaround. as you can read it from several sources the permanent activation of remote desktop service is not really recommended.
In my opinion that is why avast should also work properly if this service is disabled.

I really hope that the problem will be fixed like hectic-mmv announced it.

Just did the windows update today and ran in to the same problem everyone else has.

UI Failed to load.
This is really embarrassing.
AV Service is not responding.

I hit restart but it still fails. So far avast is the only program or setting I'm having a problem with.

Keep us updated asap.

Free version 18.4.2338 (Build 18.4.3895.0)

I updated Avast earlier this morning.

Then now I've just upgraded Win10 to the latest version and I'm getting this UI Fails to load message.

So what do I do?

P.S.

I can reach the update page by right clicking on the icon. I noticed it says no connection established.

Running AIS paid version.  I hadnt thought to use the uninstall/clean tool.  I will try that later tonight when I get home.  I have tried repair as well as regular uninstall to no avail.

On a side note; I have noticed if I restart with my internet (wifi) disabled then it loads up fine yet after I re-enable my WiFi I pull up Avast.  It tells me everything is good to go but I checked and discovered the Firewall was now turned off.  I turned it on and then I was back to 'UI Fails To Load' issue.  This has to be a bug and perhaps the bug is only in updating but then persists in some form of saved information when just doing a regular uninstall/re-install after the update fails.  Again Ill try the cleaning tool later.

I ended up having to do a clean install.
Based on the above feedback, keep in mind that the problem may return in a day or two. :-[
The update W10 1803 seems to have made the problem deeper with avast, besides the staf says still working on it.

On the other hand

Right , as far I'm concerned , a week I have 1803 updated (AIS paid vs anymore) , and I never had the problem, even on the first reboot, there's certainly another element that bothers them .
