Avast UI Fails after Windows 10 Update (Spring Update) 1803

Like it's said , It was just a hypothesis , 8 May MS release didn't help anymore
Now , we don't really know what caused this
And even if the hypothesis given by lukor is the correct one, we don't know more about the cause
However, knowledge remains secondary, the whole thing is that it seems to be working now, let's just hope MS doesn't come out with a new update that reappears the problem

Is this really all about the Win10 update? My laptop is still running Win7Ultimate and it is happening on that too.

I wish I were younger and bright enough to understand all that has been written so that I could get my system right, but alas I'm 83 and struggling.

There in lies the issue with most things these days.  Knowledge should never be secondary or we are simply led to what others want us to think.

To quote a great man... knowledge is power.

I don't think its about Windows update either as before my Avast updated it was working with the new MS update on one machine just fine.  It wasn't until I updated the Avast program that I started getting the UI Fails To Load issue.  Maybe it was on both parties too.  It would be nice to hear exactly what caused it.

Also, I should probably start a thread about this but the fix to enable Remote Desktop sounds kind of sketchy to be honest.  Id still like to know what part of Avast is requiring Remote Desktop connection and functionality behind the scenes... is this part of the Google Analytics we are stuck with now?

I have the same problem, Avast "UI Failed to load. This is really embarrassing. AV Service is not responding."
I have reinstalled and repaired Avast several times, but it did nothing.

Not sure if this will help or not, but I just went through a few days of trying to install the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17666 and then 17672. 17666 would get about halfway through and then fail and rollback to the previous build, 17672 would install but not a single Win32 program would open (metro apps worked fine) giving the error "The application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000005".

After trying over and over, even trying to just disable Avast, I ended up having to uninstall the entire program just to get the install to complete. Once I did, the update installed and now everything is working fine. I'm going to hold off reinstalling Avast for a while, but hopefully this helps someone in some way.

Avast isn't designed to run on Preview Builds. It works fine on the latest stable release 1803.

Hello there

i dont know if is the correct place to post this.... sorry in advance.

I just step whit this windows10 and avast issue I can reinstall the system without losing applications or docs or conf

This windows10 dont want to install the spring update or do anything, just load the ER after read everywere, it look like a problem with avast

How i manage to solve this, i'll try to explain.

In the ER (environment recover) I manage to load the windows10 with the black desktop, is some cain of safe mode without the save mode-... weird, load some things. I connect the network cable just in case.
Go to troubleshooting and them try to load another operating system, the option. In my case i have 3 options, rollback, and 2 option with windows volume 3, i choose the third, and try several times to load the black desktop be patience take sometime to load.
When load, execute tasks manager, control+shit+esc, and execute any browser, internet explorer those the tricks and search avast uninstall. download the app, execute with win+r and uninstall.

After that i execute from a USB the installer of the spring update ISO and install the win10 and preserve all data and applications.
It takes almost several hours,4 h. to restore the win10 but i recover all.

Ihr wisst einfach dass ich Herausforderungen mag!
Um so mehr hat mich gefreut, das ihr euren Aprilscherz auch bis Ende Mai verlängert habt!
Dadurch konnten viel mehr User an diesem Spass sich erfreuen, und im Rollback Loop richtig viel Freude erfahren. Gemeint ist das Windows 10 1803 Update, das Microsoft bereits im März third-party Entwicklern mitgeteilt hat und im April released hat...

Heute ist der 24.05.2018 und ich bin so glücklich an dieser großartigen Unleistung von Avast teilgehabt zu haben, habe das Problem mit der "The Black Desktop of Death"-Lösung gelöst... Ich habe zwar alle meine Daten Wieder, aber die meisten Programme muss neu installieren.

Danke, das ihr mich immer wieder zu kognitiven Leistungen anspornt!
