Issues with 13.6

I'm having problems with a couple of things since updating to 13.6.

• Safari has repeated problems establishing a secure connection to websites. I had to try three or four times to connect to Google to do a search. When I turned Avast off, the problem went away.

• I keep getting popup notices of the program's existence. One for an upgrade is ok, but one after another is intrusive and annoying.

EDIT2: We have found an issue with webshield process crashing; we will push the fix out ASAP. It is possible that the crash could be causing your issues; lets see if 13.7 will fix it.

Just had the secure connection issue with Safari again.

Here's the popup. I see this frequently and I don't know what the point of it is.

Kept getting disconnected from Facebook chat. Turned off the web shield and problem cleared.

And I just got this popup, which is uninformative and annoying.

Mail wouldn't download new messages this morning until I turned off all the shields.

the frequency of these popups seems to have increased in case of crashes; and from the content of the popups it seems webshield may be really crashing alot. Please can you check in Console (cmd+space, type console + enter), in the left pane select System Diagnostic Reports, and check for crashes of processes with prefix com.avast. and send them to ondrej.kolacek at avast.com? Also please if you could generate a support package (via menu -> help-> bottom most option -> generate support package) while mentioning your name within? Ideally after the error appears or after a web page stops working correctly? We will try to find out what is wrong.

Lots of crashes. First was May 3. Most recent was four minutes ago, attached.

I just had to turn off the mail shield to get Mail to work. Mail would stop retrieving and report that it was offline.
