SOLVED: Can't make a Rescue Disk

Thanks for explaination David. I was attracted to it because it said "SOLVED", then from Asyn's post yesterday my cheerfulness turned to dissapointment that it is not "SOLVED". Hence my question. Apologies to anyone reading this and getting excited. I agree let this post die as subject line is false and I guess the original poster will not amend the title line again.

Essentially the subject line isn't false as at the time it was amended by the OP it was true.

It wasn't Asyn's post that triggered this but the one by 'razalihusain' that triggered this confusion.

I see that it has been 120 days since the last post.

It wasn't 120 days as the wording when replying to an old topic is the topic hasn't had a post in OVER 120 days. In fact it was 547 days since the topic was created and 487 days since the last post.  Both way to long as much would have changed.

Prior to this update (.325) I was able to create a full working Rescue Disk, and now all that happens is the USB drive is formatted and left empty.  No content whatsoever. 

Earlier Rescue Disk versions created the USB drive with content in it, but would fail to start the actual program.  USB drive would boot just fine, but would crash later on. 

(Not everyone backs up their systems in case of disaster.)

This is the problem I think I have. Regardless of which USB port, which thumb drive, or which PC, and regardless if I try to use a thumb drive or CD, I get to 29% then Avast automatically goes back to the home screen. When I re enter the rescue disk screen, it still says 29%, eventually it stops & I get an error message saying "We were unable to create a rescue disk" no code, no way to report it. I don't know what to do. I am almost on the verge of dumping Avast & going to another A/V provider. If I cannot create repair disk and/or thumb drives to use on client's PCs, then Avast is just wasting my time.

Bob is quite right, Rescue Disk creation is not fixed yet. See latest news from Avast here:
