Vista tests...
« on: June 28, 2006, 12:26:14 AM »
Some tests in Vista:

1. The Screen Saver task, after being configurated, returned a '? ? ? ? ?' line for it's name...  ::)
2. The update process (as already known) does not work in Simple User Interface (skin), but when I click the link on the Advanced User Interface, the firewall asks me for connection and it updates  ::)

3. Seems that I made any mistake or the default of Standard Shield becomes 'High' and not Normal.

I'd like to know details about this. What does it mean "does not work"?
I just tested it here and it worked just fine...

Thanks
Vlk

I'd like to know details about this. What does it mean "does not work"?
Right clicking the 'a' blue icon and we got a message saying we can't update and just the automatic update works.
I've tried to run the ashupd.exe file and it did not work either. So I've thought the only way to update was the 'automatic' one (maybe running the Local System account). Am I wrong?

Well, Vlk explained correctly here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=21916.msg182518#msg182518
Anyway, why did my installation go to 'High'  ??? ::)

Sure, but that's from the tray icon (not from the simple UI, of which you were talking in your first post)... ;)

The problem has to do with UAP, and we're investigating ways to make the update work even from the tray icon.

Sorry the mess... you're right, not the skin (that works) but the system tray icon.
And who knows anything about the other issue, number 1 ?
