Just installed Avast v.18.4.2338 free edition.

When I perform a Smart Scan, it is checking for Sensitive Data, which is a paid module that I have not paid for.

This problem occurred a while back in v.17.8.2318 and I was advised I could change this behaviour in:
Settings >> General >> Smart Scan, but the Sensitive Data option is not available here, so I cannot turn it off.

Please can someone advise on how to turn off the Sensitive Data check in Smart Scan?
Reported to Avast. Let's see if that gets you a reply. :)

The first good point i noticed is that unsecapp.exe is no longer triggered during startup, and the definitions update goes faster .
Not that blown over by the tweaked UI, or the fact that the Cleaner reinstalled itself.

Hello

After update under Windows XP SP3 on 18.4.2338 (build 18.4.3895.325) Avast didn't start at all.
Message: UI Failed to load. This is really embarrasing. AV Service is not responding.

Reinstall gave same result.
What I need to do?

Using XP SP3 - no problems for many years with Avast Free Antivirus until this latest - UI does not load. Some postings indicate that fixes have been made, at least for Win10. However, on XP (SP3), version 18.4.3895.0 still has the problem. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, and repaired. I have made all the suggested tweaks to "Services" (background intelligent transfer service; terminal services; remote desktop service), but the problem remains. Perhaps there needs to be an additional update that will fix XP.

Does anyone has any further suggestions? Can someone from Avast address the problem?

Full system scan - sometimes show me no problem found instead run test.
Dota 2 sometimes stuck in loading screen with Avast installed.

Hey, guys. I don't know if my problem is related to the latest Avast version, but I'd sure appreciate your help. I hope I can explain my issue properly.

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and I haven't used my computer for about two days. I turned it on today and I noticed a problem with Avast. First, it takes a while for it to appear on my toolbar in the lower right corner (there's an 'open space' for it there, and then the Avast logo appears after about a minute). When I hover my mouse over it, it doesn't give me that nice-looking green text saying my system is secure, the text saying that is that 'simple' Windows-style message), if I click on the icon nothing happens, I can't reach UI, right-clicking on it doesn't give me any options either. If I do a Windows search for Avast and then click on it there, then UI appears. I can also right click on any file on my computer and scan it with Avast no problem. I guess I'm protected, but I can't reach Avast quickly through my toolbar.

I tried repairing it via Control Panel but nothing changed.

The "Problems and notifications" window that opens when you click the "Notifications" tab (the one with the bell graphic) isn't closing for me when I click the "CLOSE" option. It's closing when I click the red and white "X" button at the top left of the window though.

I am using version 18.4.2338 (build 18.4.3895.0).

I am really getting fed up now as I've constantly got to right click the avast system icon then enable one sometimes 2 security options as they seem to be getting disabled for some reason.

I already reported a simple bug via the UI but not sure if the developers have seen it or not

- Eagleget, new version, was blocked by hardened mode aggressive (now whitelisted)
- I executed Eagleget from a shortcut in my Start menu, Avast free 18.4 blocked it without any popup. Only windows showed popup that I didn't have an appropriate permission... to run the program
- When I executed Eagleget from its installation folder, not from the shortcut, Avast did show a popup that Eagleget was blocked by hardened mode

P/S: eagletget has been whitelisted automatically hardened mode aggressive after 2 days so this isn't a problem of a program being blocked by Hardened mode. It's a UI problem that hardened mode not showing a block message while executing a blocked program via a shortcut

I performed a clean install and a repair being posting this bug
