I wife was using version 18.3.233, rebooted now get UI Failed to load. tried several reboots does not help. Now using Windows Defender Security.

Other 2 computers have version 18.4.2338 hoping the micro update coming don't cause the UI Failed to load problem.

Windows 10 version 1803

Thanks bob3160

I will try version 18.4.2338 on my wife's computer.

Does it matter if I download offline installer or use the online installer.

Don't forget, you need to restart the computer after the installation in order for everything to work properly.

I restarted my Windows 10 laptop today.

No issues from Avast on the restart and no 'UI Failed to Load' message.

In other words... it seems the issue has been permanently fixed. Or... I hope so anyway.

Now don't let this happen again.  :-\

This thread is over. It can be locked now if a mod chooses to do so.

I'm glad Avast has your permission. :)
