User login fails on Windows 7 after Avast update
« on: May 23, 2018, 02:26:30 PM »
Avast installed an updated and asked me to restart. After restarting, I could not login to my Windows account. It says that the User Services service failed and the profile failed to load. I've shutdown and restarted several times and still have the problem.

I can login to other accounts on the machine, but I need to login to my original account - that's where I have everything setup.

How can I recover my account?

Back to the state before Avast's update?

If that will allow me to login, then yes. I fear that the update corrupted my user profile. Will undoing the update restore the profile?

I prefer to go back to a safe state - best done with an actual image.
