I had a message about security it said hackers can see your bank details, your IP address and your exact location - Bolton but I'm not in Bolton

Not great if the location isn't is actually Bolton.

Mind you often this is down to the IP address assigned by the users Internet provider.  And given the broad range this three digit four group wouldn't cover every single user they have.

I often get this, your IP is visible, to which I inwardly think who cares. IP addresses are a bit of a blunt instrument.  Mine if I zoom in on it (using an IP site check website), it's many miles from my exact location. 

What you also have is ensure that the site you are accessing is using an https (secure, encrypted) connection.  I have my browser force a secure https connection.
If I was worried I would probably get a VPN, which no doubt Avast hope it would be theirs.
