Avast installer disappears
« on: May 30, 2018, 11:13:19 PM »
Windows 10 (clean installation after format).

So I download Avast installer. Click it. Select partition. Install..... little avast's window in right corner shows up and then disappear.

Few seconds later windows creates another "avast installer" shortcut.

Anyone know what's the problem? I tried installing it before and after windows updates. Never had problem like this.

Thanks!

Avast free. Yup I tried using offline version- same problem. As for "partition" I don't create another one, just wanted to make it clear that I choose default partition. I download installer from official Avast site.

By partition, you mean default install path?  To partition something usually means to format and then create a partition for your hard drive.

What version of Windows 10?  There is a version of Windows 10 [Windows 10 S] that will not allow third party program installations.

If, when reloading your Windiws 10 Home, you used a recovery partition, it is possible a third-party antivirus or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware was still running, even if you uninstalled it.  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=211973.0

If so, you'll need to disable one or the other, or both:  https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/11/#artTitle

Use this tool to remove Avast Antivirus:  https://www.avast.com/en-us/uninstall-utility
