NYB boot virus on bran-new hardrive!
« on: July 02, 2006, 08:04:32 PM »
I have a bran-new hardrive that was brought  to me to format. The owner attempted to do this, but instead managed to infect it with a boot virus. What can I do. I can get no further than the warning message when I insert a boot disk which states "remove disk now to avoid boot virus infection". Please help! Thanks.

Hi Blondeheat,

Resize your avatar, it is way too big.  Then read about NYB boot virus and its removal from here:

I find it rather strange that you might get infected by a boot-time virus these days.
Can you describe exactly the symptomps, please?
