Email: Time’s running out! We want you back!

I am getting emails with this subject but my subscription is not due to expire. Why am I getting these?
Some of the content:
 
    LIMITED TIME OFFER   
 
    We want you back!

That is a good question.

Likely Marketing is doing a general mass marketing campaign.  If you don't want to be a part of this, you can unsubscribe either in the email itself or untick under Menu>Settings>General>Privacy what you don't want to be bothered with.

Me, I just ignore.

As per the original question, why am I getting these when I have NOT removed Avast. Maybe it relates from when I removed Avast from my (now scrapped) XP machine a few months ago? My settings in privacy are all cleared, so it has nothing to do with that.

Well, likely it is marketing aimed at you since you did have a XP system at one time.

It would be impossible to know you already cleared your privacy settings.  Nothing in you original post to indicate you already did. 

I'd ignore as in Reply # 1.
