I called the  18443409251 number this morning when I could not get the Avast Secure Browser to work or any browser seemed to have a locked keyboard all it would do is bring up a drop down when I tried to type either customize avast drop down or another so I had no computer access to come here for help.  When I tried to do a quick scan with Avast it would not work either.  Some things seemed odd to me now.  They got access to my computer and a lot of other information over the phone and I was told chromium and other things in extension files they were looking at were bad and my computer would likely stop working if I did not pay more money and add some other things.  Today I searched chromium here and it seems to be something avast uses?
One more odd thing after talking to two different people I was asked to end the session and I noticed the time... stated I had been on the phone since 7:41 and they had remote access shortly after that... but the time on the closing popup stated a start time of 8:42 for the first person I talked to and 8:57 for the second person.  I now have the creeps... about this entire thing.  They asked if anyone else uses my computer I said yes... will not say more about that now but it got creepy and I think they may be doing more than they are telling avast if they are telling them anything.... I was told they were in the Philipines but who know not me.
Does this sound ok to you people as it feels wrong.
ps I learned only after coming here and reading about phone assist that it was a third party and not the real avast I was contacting have I been duped?  There is more that I will put only in a private message to an avast employee.
