Internet Security

Hi guys

I've just received notification that my free trial copy of Avast
Internet Security is about to expire and have reset the Automatic
Renewal function to "Off".  My reason for doing this is not
dissatisfaction with the product (in fact I think it has worked well for
me) but lack of understanding of the scope of its function.
Specifically, throughout the period that I've been using the product
I've continued to receive messages from Avast alerting me to the fact that
my online activity can be tracked by third parties and that this
represents a threat to my system.  I don't understand how my system can
therefore be protected and vulnerable at the same time.  If you can
satisfactorily clarify this for me I'll be happy to sign up and pay for
the security program.

Cheers
Peter

Avast Software has numerous modules/components that can be purchase extra $ on top of the yearly subscription cost for Internet security.
I would not be overly concerned as I also use/have used AIS for years and simply ignore the popups aimed at selling me a/more components I don't want.
For example: As a User of AIS<  Anti Track Premium, Data Shredder, Webcam Shield and Driver Updater are some of the modules I don't want so no "added" cost to me.
