No security program have 100% detection or zero false positives, it may have it in a test but not evrytime

May 2018 - Win Defender  100% and 5 false positives  >>  https://www.av-comparatives.org/comparison/

Only one way to find out

avast webshield may fool the online speed tests.
So you can download a biiiiig file and take the download time, then turn off shields and repeat ... is there a big or minor time difference?

I'll have to check out the time difference more closely, Will do that in a few moments here

Speed Test Result with Avast Fully on--Normal result for new plan

Download Test

Slight Difference like maybe 2 percent with Download of big file with the Shields off, nothing too noticeable i feel

So Nice and Happy now, almost listened to local friend around here lol

If avast didn't slow you down on your 150/20 plan I don't see why it would on the new plan.

Yes, I sometimes panic when not even needed, as your right didn't slow me down at all on the previous internet plan, so far working good on 250/20 plan, with over provisioning average around 300 on Download, which is perfect

Think he mean Avast would slow the system down not internet, and at your speeds you wouldn't notice any change. Also Defender is trash imo, maybe it is a little lighter on the system but the protection Avast offers make the slight change in resources worth it, Been running Avast for years and have never said "Damn Avast is slowing me down i can't get anything done", Avast doesn't detect 100% of threat just like any AV can't

No he was absolutely talking about Avast and his High Speed Internet connection.

You only have to view his speedtest.net image in Reply #2 above.

Yeah Avast and High Speed Connection was purpose of the original post, Local Tech mentioned to me they were doing the speed upgrades as soft launch in Michigan last night and restart my bought Netgear C7100V Comcast Gateway to get the new speed, then Local Tech was like also just use Defender as that will give you max performance/speed with internet.

But after checking with folks here, and keeping Avast in, I have noticed no internet slowdowns, or problems all day in using it
