Avast & Opera 9 + real time scanning settings
« on: July 05, 2006, 01:30:52 PM »
In Opera forums, there has been some talk about Opera 9.0 being slow. However, I haven't noticed (slowness) differences to Opera 9 betas, for example. But I want to optimize my Avast settings. So is this the right way to disable real-time scanning of Opera?

"1. Click on the tray icon
2. Click on the details button
3. Scroll down and click on "Standard Shield"
4. Click the "Customize" button
5. Click on the "Advanced Tab"
6. In the bottom area click "Add" and put in the location of the Opera.exe file

I'm not sure if this is the exact way to exclude Opera from this, but it's the only way I have found. Go to the avast! forums if my solution does not work for you".

For futher details, see this thread: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=146689 Sorry for my english skills :)

Why are you thinking avast is making Opera slow?
Won't you be less protected? Resources and protection balance is needed  8)

I am not thinking that. I just read this thread on Opera forums, and if you noticed, it is sticky thread. Besides, other users have also asked how to configure their antivirus software. I don't know, but maybe Opera is badly programmed.... just jokingĀ  ;D

I just wanted to ask from avast users, have others noticed slowdown with Opera 9?
