Domestic spyware

Hello,

Am trying to find out if Avast Mobile Security prevents / searches for / removes domestic spyware.  The website talks at length about commercial spyware and adware, but nothing about domestic spyware.

If it does, do I need to upgrade to a premium version or are the above all covered in the free version?

Hi, it depends - in general we do not detect "well recognized anti-theft solutions" and "parental control apps" as malware (because their purpose is not to harm).

However, you might be able to reveal such app with the help of "App Permissions" feature:

- open Avast Mobile Security
- tap the icon in the left upper corner to open menu
- in menu tap on "App Permissions"
- a "domestic spyware" will be with highest probability listed between "High permission apps"
