[ACHTUNG] Support-Ende für Windows XP/Vista
« on: July 20, 2018, 11:35:29 AM »
Beginning on December 1, 2018, new Avast/AVG Antivirus products will no longer be delivered for the Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems. As customer demand grows for Windows products for Windows 7 and other new versions, demand for products that support Windows XP and Vista decreases. In order to receive new feature releases of the Avast/AVG antivirus software, users will be required to update their Windows operating system.

This means that as of December 2018, existing users on the Windows XP or Windows Vista OS will remain on version 18.7 or older rather than migrating to version 18.8 scheduled to be released in November of 2018. However, please note that all Windows XP and Vista users will continue to receive virus definitions updates from the Avast Threat Labs database after this date and Avast/AVG Antivirus versions 18.7 and older will continue to work as usual providing full protection, but will not receive regular automatic updates of new program versions with new features.

Important Notice: End-of-support for Windows XP and Vista
Avast Business Endpoint Protection v.19 will only support Windows 7 or later

In early 2019, Avast Antivirus client version 19 will kick cybersecurity to the next level. We will be releasing it throughout our home and business products. Avast Antivirus client version 19 will NOT be compatible with Windows XP or Vista operating systems. After the release, any new devices added to the network will need to use Windows 7 or later.

What does this mean if you are running Windows XP or Vista operating systems?

For Avast Business customers:
We recommend you remain on Avast Business Endpoint Protection solution version 18.x, which will continue to receive virus definition updates from the Avast Threat Labs database. This version will be supported by both the cloud and on-premise Avast Business Management Consoles, CloudCare, and Managed Workplace.

For AVG Business by Avast customers:
We recommend you remain on AVG Business Edition product version 18.x, which will continue to receive virus definition updates from the Avast Threat Labs database and will be supported by the AVG Remote Administration Console.

CHANGE: Due to the introduction of 64bit version in next release we decided to move the end of support of Windows XP/Vista one month earlier. So the next version planned for end of November won't support XP/Vista.
