Hi,
I have been using Avast IS for a few years now, and more than often I could not see my other PC's on my home network by just browsing, but I could access them directly. I recently received a new modem, and since then my PC's loaded with avast could not be seen by each other on my network. I reset the network adaptors, made sure everything was appropriately shared, but these could not see each other at all. Each could access the Internet through the modem, access my NAS without any problems, but not each other.
I uninstalled Avast on my PC, and suddenly my wife's PC could see mine. I still could not see or access hers. I then uninstalled Avast on her PC, and I could now access the shared folders on her machine without any issues.
I would like to reinstall Avast IS, but I won't do so until I know exactly what caused the issue, and how to avoid it in future. My home network now works as it should for the first time in years, and I can't help feeling that my past issues were all caused by Avast.
If anyone has an idea on what caused this and how I can avoid it, your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I am running Windows 10 Pro on mine, Windows 10 Home on my wife's, all with the latest updates, both on Avast IS subscriptions and up to date.
