Why is email showing Guest
« on: July 24, 2018, 01:45:51 PM »
I noticed in one topic I was reading, had guest but showed a email address underneath.

So must have been a member once, but had asked to be removed from forum.

I just wonder how much spam he/she is receiving.

A very bad policy if you asked to be removed from the forum and your reward is we will leave your posts etc and for good measure we will display your email.

I agree, definitely not a good practice :o I've reported it to the Moderators.

If they cant modify then best they just delete the topic, very poor practice having the forum software displaying a users email like that after account removal.

Any chance a moderator could answer this please.
Not a good look for a security company who abuses you privacy like they have here.

Making me wonder if I should renew my subscription.  BY the way I have used avast since 1999

Well, not really, there was some valuable info in this thread.
But OK, I guess it was the easiest way to "fix" it... ::)

Maybe at the moment, that was the only fix.
Agree that some of the valuable info in that thread is now gone.
Hope they fix the root cause of the original reason for the request.

Hi Bob, most probably not, I first reported it back in 2014.

I am 100% happy that this topic was deleted.

I am the owner of the Email address that was displayed for the public to see. I really do not  care about what info has been deleted, number one priority should have been my privacy.  Boy did I get a lot of spam >:(

I registered yesterday so I could log in and post in  the topic that displayed my email.  In a short time it was deleted.
