client firewall blocking windows permission settings
« on: July 25, 2018, 04:52:27 PM »
We are migrating from EPS to avast for business.
I am installing the client onto laptops (Windows 10 1803, 64bit).
In Windows, avast firewall blocks the process when I go to change security permissions on any piece of software.
E.g. right-click CCleaner or Libreoffice -> Properties -> Security tab -> Add-> Here you add users/groups. the firewall is blocking communication to the server.

I'm suspect it's a matter of changing firewall permissions or adding exceptions, but that's where I'm stuck.
Thanks in advance, folks.

I am having he same issue, turn off firewall and no problem, turn it on and you can't find users to add to folder security.

did you ever figure out a fix other than turning off Avast firewall?

Same issue here, anti virus blocking all sort of local traffic to the Synology for example. Even adding the application to allow everything it still won't do it.

Looks like I will be disabling the firewall as it is causing too many issues for the 50 users we have.
