Avast IS in combination with Malwarebytes Premium?
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:41:25 PM »
I was wondering if Avast Internet Security would work in combination with Malwarebytes Premium without causing any problems? They both have real time protection which I think might conflict with one another.

Best to try running without making changes.  But, if needed, see the following:  https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/200324-exclusions-for-avast-users/

If needed go to last post in thread and copy/paste what you need if preceding posts in thread do now work.

Having said that, Avast is sufficient for my needs and does what Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does.  Don't have MBAM installed.  Don't really need it.

Both programs overlap in so many areas now that I wouldn't run both together anymore, even with the exclusions ;)

Thank you all for inputs. I'm a journalist from the country which is known for trying to use most advanced surveillance software to monitor activists (PCs, phones) thus I'm trying to be on the safe side but it's unclear where these measures are becoming an overkill and start to interfere with each other.

You might consider to add a strong VPN and Tor.

It certainly does. Try using it once while doing your banking or shopping while having selected a place other than your home town (if that's available). :)
