How to stop Avast from taking my money
« on: August 21, 2018, 07:14:16 PM »
I tried a program last year and did not like it. Now Avast has taken $65.54 and 54.61 from my checking account. I have emailed over and over and they will not respond. Is this just a scam?

If you only tried it then why did you give them your bank/credit card info?

Hi gooseyv
Some Trial offers "do request" Credit Card/Payment information up front in order to receive the Trial offer and which you then have to cancel before the Trial period is over or you get charged on the assumption you want a subscription.

Please go to http://support.avast.com and "Submit a Support Ticket". If you want to request a refund please provide as much info as possible about your case.
Submit only once as more submissions only put you at the back again. :)

I have done that three times with no response.

If you keep submitting you keep getting put at the back of the line.
Response can take awhile. Have patience, that'a all you can do now.
Don't submit any more tickets. :)

I have done that three times with no response.

Spamming the forums with multiple topics/posts on exactly the same thing doesn't help.

Well what does help when you are dealing with a company that is non-responsive?  Why isn't there phone support? Why didn't they notify me the would be taking money? And two separate amounts? I hated their software and thought it behaved like malware with all kind of pop ups. Really messed my machine up. I work in IT and I have never seen anything as bad.
