Latest Avast seems to be locking up windows 10.

Hi folks,

First of all I can't say for 100% DEFINITE that is it Avast's fault, but after installing latest update of program I have had no end of problems on windows 10 with it becoming non-response internet explorer freezing, etc.

Just out of curiosity anyone else with same problems?

I tried uninstalling Avast with Revo uninstaller but Avast seems to get stick at the last bit of uninstall, image 01 or something like that.

Anyways I am now giving AVG a try though I understand both from same stable.

Long time user of Avast free here.

Hi
The first thing that comes to mind is to be sure there a no 'remnants' of previous Avast installations/drivers
I would be sure to run the 'Avast' Removal Utility in Safe Mode (as it will present) before installing a different/new Anti Virus.   Just saying

Thanks for reply. I have really tried with Avast and then AVG these past few days, unfortunately nothing worked, so have reluctantly decided to go with another AV.

Computer seems to be running fine so far with other one.

Hope to maybe come back to Avast in the future.
