MBAM 3 exclusions
« on: December 13, 2016, 12:37:14 AM »
Hi guys :)

As some ( many ) of us are using MBAM as well, here are the exclusions of MBAM 3 you can add to Avast :

Quote
Besides the file names being different, also note that it now installs to Program Files directory, whether a machine is 32-bit or 64-bit:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe

Thanks for that, I confirmed I have that part correct.  What I have not found searching so far is the same type of list of Avast Internet Security files to put into MBAM 3.0.  Is that posted anywhere?  Thanks!

on edit:  as a note I thought about adding the entire Avast installation folder to MBAM 3.0 exclusions, but was told that was a bad idea for some reason.  It was stated that adding the specfic Avast files to be excluded was better.  Then just make sure those file names are not changed/added to in future releases.  I did look in the Avast program file folder, but there are 18 executable file there! I suppose I could add all of those to MBAM 3.0, but that may be overkill or unnecessary?  Maybe only specific files are needed to be excluded?

I've asked Avast to hone in with the needed exclusions.

I personally preferred to add the complete Avast folder to Malwarebytes exclusions, did the same with Malwarebytes to Avast as well, I don't want either program interfering with any part of either program.

Did Avast come back with a list of exclusions for MalwareBytes?

What is most likely the cause of your problem is explained here:

It is something Malwarebytes needs to address. Until they do, use Malwarebytes on demand not as a resident program.
I personally don't use MB. Avast already check for malware so it's only a duplication.
