Yes. Temporary fix (NOT a permanent fix) is to disable Avast Web Shield. It's broken.

And I don't have Malware Bytes Anti Malware in my computer so I don't find that excuse plausible. Neither does our son have MBAM. Ex though, has MBAM. But the same there, disabling webshield on her computer and no more loops.

AFAIK, Avast said a solution would come this week, but as always, things are not that easily solved. So I stick to the generic recomendation given from Avast Team (that took me almost a day to figure out by myself), disable web shield for now if you experience problems.

This is like a Moment 22. You don't know what's wrong unless you can reach the net, which you can't, so you can't get a solution. But Please read on the web forum :-P ...

I'm having issues since the update too.  No MWB installed, affecting local area stuff.  Even disabling all shields doesn't help, only fix is to uninstall.  (Didn't try webshield disable but why would that affect the local network?)  The problem is definitely the update.

Shit happens though, I mean... I get that.  Just wondering when the next version will come up so I can have a firewall again.

I still haven't had the opportunity to check out my ex´s computer, she simply solved the issue by disabling webshield. I'm not worried.

Our mid son used the avast clean utility under Windows 7 and reinstalled a complete offline install of Avast. Worked for him. Since, he had a fun ((NEVER FUN))  harddrive failure so he's now on Win-dos 10.

Sorry but disabling Webshield is a very bad idea. It removes a very important part of your protection.
Your computer, your choice. Certainly not one I would make.
