Avast stops at 82% of Smart Scan

Avast Free PV 18.6.2349 VDV 180831-2 for Windows 7 Pro 64bit stops scanning at 82% during Smart Scan with Process AvstSvc.exe *32 consuming around 12% of CPU on a Intel i7-930 with 10GB RAM.

What do you mean by stops ??? How long have you waited for it to finish ???
There are lots of variables that can cause it to take a long time to complete.
Have you made any changes to the default settings ???

If his problem is the same as mine, our computers run the Smart Scan, and the percentage shown is stuck at 82%.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Avast and got the exact same problem again.

I left the Smart Scan running since last night. When I left my computer at around 10PM, it was showing 82%. It's now been running for 10 hours, and it's still showing 82%.
