Well that would depend on what icon you are clicking on and just how you are clicking the tray icon ?
Right click on the tray icon (bottom right of the screen) and you get other options.  Left click and it opens the UI.

What is it that you are trying to do ?

Was trying to Disable it for 10/20 mins to load some  software that advises to to disable antivirus as it may cause loading problems.

The best way to get infected is to disable your AV protection to install something on your computer. Don't Do It.

Your right it didn't work, first you have to create a screenshot and then save it on your desktop or other disk location.  Then using the Attachments and other options (click it, to expand), now you should be able to select it to be attached.

There would appear to be a problem with your installation, try the Avast Repair as suggested by Bob.

I haven't disabled Avast in such a long time (that I can't recall when) to allow the installation of a program and no problem.  I have to question why a programs needs for you to disable your protection for it to install and what it may be doing that would even require you to disable it.

Tried the repair optoin but no luck, also tried to put a screenshot on posting but got ths message"Your file is too large. The maximum attachment size allowed is 1024 KB." Amnot pc  savvy enough yet to resize it.
Was installing Roxio Creator when advised to disable any antivirus, but you are roght ,its a risky thing to do,but am also curious as to why the options are not there ,they were on my free Avast but not on the purchased Premier !!
Thanks for the posts.

My guess is that you have done a full screen screenshot when creating a screenshot, just copy/crop the relevant information.  You will notice that my attachments are cropped and are much smaller in both size and file size, that said I use a screen capture program that is more flexible.

If you are using just the default windows screen capture, you can use the Alt+PrtScr key to capture the active window (if my memory is correct).

Personally I can't see why Roxio Creator would require turning off your antivirus software.  I have installed other CD/DVD creators in the past and I have never disabled my AV.

The options are there, your problem is that the tray icon isn't functioning correctly.

If you are seeing "Unpin From taskbar" as a right-click option, I think you are clicking on a taskbar icon and not the system tray icon (which may be hidden).
System tray icons are not "pinned".

That's the taskbar icons not the system tray icons.
Your system tray icons are on the right side of the taskbar.

The images I posted in Reply #1 and #7 show the tray icon to the bottom right of the screen.
