Yep , did the same and to be honest , I didn't realize how much of a performance hit I was accepting. I got so used to how it was running that I thought it was normal...

I would install if it worked even with a performance hit to gain more security ,,but till then I guess Malwarebytes works fine.

Avast is alway working on reported issues and provides fixes through back end updates as well as version updates.

AVAST developers fixed the mistake, downloaded latest version, now system works as it always had , right alongside Malwarebytes.

I really do not like the new system in only one regard and that is it push to sell me one more gadget,, They are nearing the point of being ridiculous, not much different then a salesman who sales you a car then acts surprised  when you point out it has no seats, engine or tires , and states that those are all extras that must be ordered separately,,

AVAST needs to LEARN KISS ( Keep it simple stupid)!!!

I bet most customers would be okay with 3 or 4 versions advertised free, basic, premium and ultimate...Stop the nickel and diming crap.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI -> Settings -> Privacy
